Always something going on. One day, a big group might pile into vans to go ice-skating in Birmingham. Friends head for Tuscaloosa to catch a movie or shop, or walk two blocks to Marion's town square to browse the shops or eat pizza. Beach trips, bicycling, and tubing or canoeing on the Cahaba River are popular, and our Earth Team is active in Perry Lakes Park, a 700-acre wildlife sanctuary with a canopy tower where you can spot rare warblers.
Concerts, speakers, and more. Featured artists range from Christian artists like Bethany Dillon to classical guitarist Ernesto Tamayo and the gospel band Cinque Cullar and the Tribe of Judah; dramatic productions include The Sound of Music. We've hosted such speakers as safe travel advocate Beth Twitty, Congressional representatives, and Eric Metaxis, whose book Amazing Grace: William Wilburforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery, inspired the film Amazing Grace. Join our Choir or FAITH ensemble, and you can provide the entertainment on campus and on tour. Our students also co-host dances with the Marion Military Institute cadets and play jointly in the band.
There's no sitting on the sidelines here- take up some activities for fun, and they could take you far. One student enjoyed her archery course so much, she got a summer job teaching the sport at a mountaintop youth camp near Asheville, North Carolina.
Enduring friendship. From your first day here, one important social connection is your Big Sister/Little Sister friendship. Think special gifts, secret ceremonies, and spontaneous events-all part of our great tradition of sisterhood. Learn more
