Picture a group riding on horseback through quiet woodland and across sparkling creeks on a beautiful November day. Or watching the film, Invisible Children, which has inspired intense discussion about human rights on campuses nationwide. Or relaxing with friends in the antique stores and boutiques downtown. All these experiences-and more-are yours at Judson.

On campus. It starts with a flyer, with a mass email, with a spoken word - "Coffee and poetry night in the 'J.' Everyone's invited!" Your calendar fills up here: perhaps tennis or volleyball, a play - The Gift of the Magi - performed in the auditorium by the drama department, student government meetings, favorite TV. shows in the dorm lobby. At the Core, our praise and worship service, students sing and socialize. The Rose Arbor and the Senior Oak are great places to unwind, and a solitary jog or gathering on the Hockey Field, blankets and snacks in tow, to relax or study are favorite ways to let the beauty "just soak in."

In the community. Freshmen get involved in the community right away through 15 local ministry projects we call Marion Matters. Judson students have sung the Messiah with a broad cross-section of local residents, taught computer literacy at the Marion Public Library, organized public health fairs, set up reading circles in local schools, and hosted a Kids Club for local children. On their own initiative, several students are working to establish a job skills training program for the area. "I was always involved in service projects in high school, but here at Judson it feels different," says Amy. "Here I've grown to have a heart for the community that surrounds me."
