HOW WE HELP OUR NEW STUDENTS PREPARE
It's hard enough for you to have to help your daughter move away from home for the first time without adding to that the stress of not knowing what to expect for her in her new environmentÖ At Judson College, we want you to know that you have nothing to worry about - your daughter is in good hands! Our dedicated faculty, staff and current students will be on hand that first day of college to help ensure that no one is left feeling uncertain...
Welcome Week Theme: "Something Brighter"
Move-in Day for Soccer players - August 7, 2011
Move-in Day for Volleyball players - August 15, 2011
Move-in Day for freshmen and transfers - Sunday, August 21, 2011
There are a number of things your daughter will need to do before she will be able to move-in to her residence hall. She will either be moving into Kirtley or Barron Residence Hall. Your daughter may already have received this information at an earlier date. Before move-in, your daughter will need to:
- Check in, beginning at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in Blount Student Union
- Make a trip to the business office to take care of any unpaid balances
- Have her medical form, insurance form and vehicle registration form completed and turned in at the check-in location.
* Note: ALL students are required to be covered by a health insurance policy; proof of insurance will be needed before your daughter can move in. If you are not insured, you can purchase a plan offered by the college.
There will be an express check-in line for those students who mail in their forms ahead of time. After check in, your daughter may or may not have her campus photo ID card, Access card and parking decal:
- Campus Photo ID card - Every student is issued a photo ID card. This card includes a current photo of the student (most of these photos are made during Judson's S.O.A.R. in June and August), the students name and year she is attending Judson (ex: FALL 11 - SPRING 12). * If your daughter did not attend SOAR in June or August and, therefore, didn't have her photo made, please see a member of Student Life during check-in.
- Access card - Access cards are issued to all traditional Judson students. This card will provide your daughter with access to her residence hall, as well as, most academic buildings on campus. If a student loses or damages her access card, she may purchase one from the Office of Student Life.
- Parking Decal - If your daughter plans to have a vehicle that needs to be parked on campus, she must have a current parking decal, viewable at all times on the vehicle's front windshield.
Once your daughter has completed the check-in process, she may begin moving into her residence hall. Student leaders will be available to help you.
